History is ALIVE

History is ALIVE in Mrs. Campa’s Eisenhower Middle School classroom! Julie Campa’s innovative teacher grant allowed the opportunity for her to buy props and costumes relevant to her history curriculum. The costumes are categorized by the American Revolution, Westward Expansion, and Civil War Era. With these costumes and props, the students re-enact pieces of history in written plays and are able to discover a personal connection to the individuals they are learning about. “This innovative project creates an alternative way to help my students learn the curriculum. Many students learn best through the process of creation. They really love it!” says Campa.

“Bringing History Alive” would not be possible without the support of the Goddard Education Foundation and benefactors who make opportunities to inspire minds possible for students, like those in Mrs. Campa’s history class.
