Fine Motor Skills Manipulatives

Victoria teaches Kindergarten at Amelia Earhart Elementary and noticed how her students struggled to find the stamina to do the work that is required.
She said, “As a kindergarten team, we continue to look for fun ways to provide much-needed fine motor skill practice and support that students need to be successful in writing and cutting. The need for fine motor skills practice seems to be increasing year to year. I’m not sure if this trend happens because of the increased use of technology for children when they are young instead of practicing hands-on activities. We are seeing more and more children coming to us with decreased abilities in fine motor skills such as cutting and holding a pencil.”

Thank you Victoria for being a world-class innovative teacher! We are grateful to all of the donors to the Goddard Education Foundation for helping to strengthen USD 265 students each day!
