Have you ever had an “Aha!” moment? Jenna Holder, PBS Teacher at Apollo Elementary School, said this is her favorite aspect of using the new Swivl Video Recorder in her classroom.

The students can read out loud while they record themselves, then when they watch it they can review their performance. Many times, lessons “click” with the students due to watching themselves. Students that previously didn’t like to read now announce how much fun they are having.

The Swivl Recorder is also a great tool to help with social skills training. Again, the students can be recorded during a lesson and then not only review the lesson but also watch how they behaved to produce ideas to help them succeed in the future.

The Paras at Apollo receive training from Specialists and are now able to watch it again and relearn it with ease. It has been a very useful tool to help evolve the PBS classroom.
